The 2026 BYD Seal 05 DM-i (Specifications | Enquiry) has launched, offering a single variant priced at ¥79,800. The new model largely retains the configuration of the previous 55KM Luxury Intelligent Driving Edition while maintaining its price point but now features an enhanced CLTC pure electric range of 128 km. The vehicle is positioned as a compact plug-in hybrid saloon.

Powertrain-wise, the new model incorporates a larger 15.87 kWh battery pack, increasing the CLTC pure electric range from 55 km to 128 km. It supports fast charging at 17 kW and features 3.3 kW external power supply capability. The Seal 05 DM-i 2026 retains the 1.5 L naturally aspirated engine producing 74 kW maximum power and 126 N·m maximum torque, paired with an electric motor delivering 120 kW maximum power. WLTC fuel consumption is 3.98 L/100 km.

Configuration changes primarily include the addition of an electronic gear selector and the removal of the active grille shutters. The model also features a 10.1-inch central touchscreen, electrically adjustable front seats, a six-speaker audio system, remote control functionality, a reversing camera, and cruise control.
