Ferrosilicon is an iron-silicon alloy made from coke, steel scraps, quartz (or silica) as raw materials and smelted in an electric furnace. Ferroalloys are mainly used as deoxidants and alloying agents in steelmaking to eliminate excess oxygen and sulfur in molten steel and improve the quality and performance of steel. The upstream of ferrosilicon is mainly the supply of ore, and the downstream is the demand of the steel industry.
