Here’s a preview of new vehicle releases from October 20 to October 26. This week will see multiple major new models launching, pre-selling, or debuting, including the Leopard 5 Long Range Edition / Leopard 8 Five-Seater Edition, 2026 Ford Ranger, New Cadillac CT6, Eshan A100C, 2026 Song L DM-i / Song Pro DM-i / Qin L DM-i, the new Tank 400, and more.

New Tank 400

The new Tank 400 features a larger front grille that retains dual chrome trim, headlights consistent with the current model, and a redesigned front bumper for a more robust appearance. A lidar unit is added to the roof. Dimensions measure 4964/1970/1905 mm (L/W/H) with a 2850 mm wheelbase. Inside, the cabin features a new large, square floating display. Following the switch to a column-mounted gear selector, the lower dashboard adopts a redesigned layout. This includes two ventilated wireless charging pads and more metallic-finished off-road control buttons. A climate-controlled storage compartment is added within the front center armrest. While the panoramic sunroof has been removed, a retractable overhead display is introduced, and the rear air vent screens receive an upgrade.

The updated Tank 400 introduces the new Hi4-Z variant. The Hi4-T and Hi4-Z represent two distinct platforms with different focuses: the Hi4-T is a hardcore off-roader with non-disconnect suspension, a ladder frame, and mechanical 4WD, while the Hi4-Z aligns with Great Wall’s more refined off-road classification system, targeting general off-road use. The new model offers gasoline and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The PHEV variant combines a 2.0T engine with an electric motor, delivering a maximum engine output of 185 kW. The electric motor’s power is expected to remain at 120 kW, matching the current model, resulting in a combined system output of 300 kW.

2026 BYD Song Pro DM-i

The 2026 BYD Song Pro DM-i features minimal overall design changes, focusing primarily on detail refinements. The front bumper’s air intake now incorporates an active grille shutter function, while the overall front fascia remains largely consistent with the 2025 model. Inside, the most notable change is the adoption of an electronic gear selector. The center console area features a low-mounted air vent, a wireless charging pad, and a single row of physical function buttons. Additionally, a new interior color option, Wei Yang Gray, will be introduced.

The powertrain remains unchanged with the 1.5L plug-in hybrid system: the engine delivers a maximum power of 74 kW, while the electric motor provides 120 kW. The Song Pro DM-i offers two lithium iron phosphate battery capacities—12.9 kWh and 18.3 kWh—yielding pure electric ranges of 75 km and 115 km respectively under CLTC conditions. Notably, a new variant with a 133 km range will debut.

Leopard 5 Long Range

The Leopard 5 Long Range variant will offer a 200 km pure electric range, along with new exterior and interior color options, and is expected to feature optimized configurations. The Leopard 8 Five-Seater variant is anticipated to include zero-gravity rear seats with leg rests and additional exterior color choices. For reference, the currently available Fangchengbao Bao 8 offers 6-seat and 7-seat configurations with official guide prices ranging from ¥379,800 to ¥423,800. The new five-seat variant will enhance second-row passenger comfort, improving both space and convenience.

Reports indicate that the Bao 5 Long Range Edition will launch in four trim levels: Tian Shen Low, Tian Shen High, Laser Low, and Laser High. For exterior colors, the new variants will offer Night Shadow Black, Peak Gray, Dolomites Green, Vatnajökull Blue, and the newly added White Gray. Interior options include Eclipse Blue, Shallow Green, and the newly added Brown. Powering the vehicle, it is expected to feature a 47.8 kWh battery pack, delivering a CLTC pure electric range of up to 200 kilometers.
