The all-new NIO ES8, positioned as a full-scenario tech flagship pure-electric SUV, will officially launch and commence deliveries on September 20, becoming the largest pure-electric vehicle currently available in the Chinese market.

The NIO ES8 price is set within a pre-sale range of RMB 416,800 to RMB 456,800 for the vehicle purchase option, while the battery leasing plan ranges from RMB 308,800 to RMB 348,800. Specifically:

NIO ES8 Space

In terms of space, dimensions include a 5,280mm length and 3,130mm wheelbase, yielding an interior volume of 6.2 square meters. Combined trunk capacity reaches 777 liters, accommodating 10 20-inch suitcases and 2 14-inch children’s suitcases. Shoulder room across all three rows leads its class: 1,528mm in the first row, 1,512mm in the second row, and 1,310mm in the third row. The second-row door opening measures 1163mm in height and 963mm in width, comparable to mainstream MPVs, allowing children up to 1.3 meters tall to pass through upright to the third row.

NIO ES8 Interior

The NIO ES8 interior blends luxury and technology, featuring a Skyline display, a floating horizontal center console screen, and an upgraded NOMI system. The steering wheel adopts a three-spoke design, with front seat controls relocated to the door panels. Premium wood and metal trims highlight the cabin, while the seats incorporate quilted stitching and embroidery techniques, with more than 120,000 embroidery stitches throughout. Six exterior color options are offered, such as Midnight Black and Cloud White, complemented by four interior schemes including Pamir Brown and Pearl Shell.

Seating functionality sets a benchmark in its class. All six seats feature zero-gravity design with leg rests, while the seven-seat version includes foldable heated premium armrests in the second row. Third-row seats recline up to 130 degrees. The cabin also integrates a 1.7-square-meter smart privacy window, a coat hanger interface, and a 21.4-inch Sky Screen supporting Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos certifications. The advanced audio system includes 8 surround speakers, 1 subwoofer, 4 sky speakers, and 2 headrest speakers, delivering 2600W rated power.

Performance

Performance-wise, the NIO ES8 suspension and Intelligent Drive System stand out. Built on a 900V high-voltage architecture, dual motors deliver 520kW and 700N·m of torque, achieving 0–100 km/h in 3.97 seconds with a braking distance of 34.9m. The standard 102kWh 4C battery pack enables a CLTC NIO ES8 range of 635km, with energy consumption of 16.6kWh/100km. The upcoming 120kWh self-developed battery will support 5C charging. The dual-chamber air suspension and CDC enable a tight 5.7-meter turning radius, comparable to the BMW X3.

Safety

On safety, the ES8 debuts Wet Mode, Hill Leveling, and Intelligent Guard. Intelligent Guard can detect flood risks and raise the suspension; future approvals may allow automatic departure from fire or flood scenarios. Equipped with 11 airbags, 72 collision tests, and 65 active safety features, the NIO ES8 review highlights its advanced protection. The AR-HUD and Intelligent Light Carpet align precisely with lanes, also recognizing S-curves and two-wheeled vehicles.

Hardware-wise

Hardware-wise, the new nio es8 combines the self-developed Shenji NX9031 chip with Qualcomm’s 8295 chipset. The Shenji NX9031 is among the first next-generation intelligent driving chips delivered in production vehicles.
