What is ASTM A335 P1 low-alloy steel pipe?

ASTM A335 GR.P1 pipeASTM A335 P1 (ASME SA335 P1) is a seamless ferritic low-alloy steel pipe for high-temperature service. P1 contains 0.44 – 0.65% molybdenum alloying elements and has a tensile strength of 380 MPa and a yield strength of 205 MPa.
P1 is more suitable for lower temperature and pressure applications than other high-grade tubes.

Scope of ASTM A335 GR.P1

This specification covers nominal wall and minimum wall seamless ferritic alloy-steel pipe intended for high-temperature service. Pipe ordered to this specification shall be suitable for bending, flanging (vanstoning), and similar forming operations, and for fusion welding. Selection will depend upon design, service conditions, mechanical properties, and high-temperature characteristics.

Applications of ASTM A335 P1 Alloy Steel Seamless Pipes
