What is CCS Grade B, CCS B, or CCS B steel?

CCS Grade B, CCS B, CCS B steel plates are common-strength shipbuilding plate which is mainly used for built hull of vessels, ship body construction. Normally when rolling,Air rolled and Control Rolled is ok for ship plate CCS Grade B with the thickness equal and belows 40 Millimeters, and for thickness above 40mm,the heat treatment shall be Normalised or TMCP.

Dimensional Range

The size range of CCS B/CCS Grade B/CCS Gr.B steel plates is extensive, catering to the diverse needs of the shipbuilding industry. These plates are available in thicknesses ranging from several millimeters to several hundred millimeters, with varying widths and lengths to suit specific design requirements.

Impact Testing

Impact testing is a crucial aspect of ensuring the safety and reliability of CCS B/CCS Grade B/CCS Gr.B steel plates. These tests assess the steel’s ability to withstand sudden impact loads, simulating conditions that may occur during collisions or other maritime accidents. The plates must meet strict impact toughness requirements to ensure their suitability for shipbuilding applications.

Main Application Scenarios

CCS B/CCS Grade B/CCS Gr.B steel plates are widely used in the construction of various marine vessels, including cargo ships, tankers, and cruise ships. Their excellent mechanical properties and corrosion resistance make them suitable for hull structures, decks, and other critical components that require high strength and durability.
