Cold Oil Press Machine

The cold oil press machine has completely transformed the way we extract oil from seeds and nuts, offering a healthier alternative to traditional hot-pressing methods. By operating at lower temperatures, these machines help preserve the nutritional value and natural flavor of the oil.

With our MiKim cold press machines, you can extract more oil compared to conventional pressing techniques. In terms of both color and nutritional quality, the oil you produce is the most natural and healthiest.

Cold pressing maximizes the retention of bioactive compounds such as unsaturated fatty acids, as well as fat-soluble nutrients like vitamins E and A. Compared with conventional oil presses, this significantly improves oil quality.

How Does Cold-Press Oil Production Work?

Advanced mechanical engineering is used to produce fixed oils, also known as cold-pressed oils. The cold press oil extraction process involves several stages:

  1. First, you need one of our MiKim machines to extract oil from any type of seed or nut.

  2. Once the seeds are cleaned, they are transferred into the press chamber.

  3. During cold pressing, the area where high pressure is applied to the seeds is the oil cake section. The seeds entering this section are pressed under high pressure by the screw shaft, and the residual oil cake is discharged.

  4. Customers can use the pressed cake in various ways. For example, almond oil cake can be processed into high-protein flour.

  5. The oil produced by a cold press machine is natural and contains raw particles. Many customers bottle the oil in its unrefined state.

Because the cold press process extracts oil without heating, it delivers the healthiest and most natural product possible.

Advantages of the Low-Temperature Screw Oil Press

  1. Helical Gear Drive System – energy-saving, low load, and reduced noise.

  2. No steaming or frying required – capable of processing multiple oilseeds at low press chamber temperatures without losing oil nutrients.

  3. Steel-bar barrel structure – ensures efficient oil discharge, less residue, and clearer output.

  4. Infrared heating technology – enables pressing throughout all seasons.

  5. Positive-pressure oil filtration system – quickly removes crude oil impurities, resulting in clear, transparent oil with a pure taste.

The working principle of Cold Press Oil Machine

The working principle of the oil press is mainly based on the action of mechanical external force, which separates the oil from oil crops through crushing, squeezing and other methods. Specifically, the internal working process of the oil press includes the oil entering the pressing chamber from the hopper, and then the pressing screw rotating to push the material embryo inward for squeezing.

FAQ

1. What are the most important features of a cold-pressed oil press?

Low-temperature pressing (typically ≤60–80°C) prevents nutrients and natural flavors from being destroyed by high heat. This process preserves active ingredients in the oil (such as vitamins and phytosterols) to the greatest extent possible, resulting in a healthier and more authentic oil.

2. What oils can be extracted using an oil press?

Common raw materials include:

  • Plant oils: peanuts, soybeans, rapeseed, olives, sesame seeds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, etc.

  • Other materials: coconut (requires special processing), tea seeds, etc.

3. What does “cold-pressed oil” mean?

Cold-pressed oil is obtained at low temperatures (either without heating or with minimal heating) without undergoing high-temperature refining methods such as chemical solvent extraction or deodorization. Its key features include preservation of the natural flavor and nutrients of the raw materials, lighter color, and a lower smoke point (suitable for cold dishes and low-temperature cooking).

4. What materials are suitable for oil presses?

  • Cold press: Best for raw materials with high oil content that are sensitive to heat (such as nuts, olives, and flaxseed). These require pre-screening and impurity removal.

  • Hot press: Suitable for raw materials with medium oil content that require heating to release the oil (such as soybeans and rapeseed), or for materials that need moisture or impurity removal.

5. How easy is it to use an oil press?

Basic operation steps:

① Screen and clean the raw materials → ② Crush/pre-treat (required for some models) → ③ Load into the press chamber → ④ Start the machine → ⑤ Filter to obtain crude oil.

6. How hot does the oil get after pressing?

  • Cold press: The oil outlet temperature is generally ≤80°C, with little to no temperature increase (oil is extracted by mechanical pressure).

  • Hot press: Due to pre-roasting or heating, the outlet temperature can reach 100–150°C (heat helps increase extraction yield).

7. How much does an oil press cost?

Prices vary depending on type, production capacity, and brand:

  • Small household presses: From a few thousand to 10,000–20,000 yuan (e.g., screw and hydraulic presses), suitable for home use.

  • Commercial/industrial presses: From 50,000 yuan and above, depending on daily capacity (50 kg to 10 tons+) and automation level.

Recommendation: Choose based on your needs (home vs. commercial), raw material type, and budget. Prioritize cost-effectiveness and reliable after-sales service.
