Ferrosilicon is an iron alloy composed of iron and silicon. Ferrosilicon is a ferrosilicon alloy smelted in an electric furnace using coke, steel scraps, and quartz (or silica) as raw materials.

Uses of ferrosilicon:

1. Ferrosilicon is an essential deoxidizer in the steelmaking industry. In steelmaking, ferrosilicon is used for precipitation deoxidation and diffusion deoxidation.

2. Used as inoculant and spheroidizing agent in the cast iron industry. In the production of ductile iron, 75 ferrosilicon is an important inoculant (helping to precipitate graphite) and spheroidizing agent.

3. Used as reducing agent in ferroalloy production. Not only is the chemical affinity between silicon and oxygen high, but high-silicon ferrosilicon also has a very low carbon content. Therefore, high-silicon ferrosilicon (or silicon alloy) is a commonly used reducing agent in the ferroalloy industry to produce low-carbon ferroalloys.

Ferrosilicon particles are obtained by crushing ferrosilicon into small pieces in a certain proportion and filtering through a certain number of sieves. Simply put, ferrosilicon particles are small particles selected after crushing natural, standard ferrosilicon blocks into different sizes. Currently on the market, foundries are widely used as inoculants.

Ferrosilicon particle supply size: 0.2-1mm, 1-3mm, 3-8mm, or customized according to customer requirements;

Advantages of ferrosilicon particles:

Ferrosilicon granules are not only used in the steelmaking industry, but are also commonly used metallurgical materials in the cast iron industry. This is mainly because ferrosilicon particles can be used by cast iron manufacturers to replace inoculants and nodulizers. In the cast iron industry, ferrosilicon pellets are much less expensive than steel and are easier to melt, making them a castable iron alloy product.
