Hardox® 600 Plates

Hardox® 600 offers a nominal hardness of 600 HBW combined with exceptional toughness, making it unique among steels of this hardness level. Designed for extreme wear conditions, Hardox® 600 remains cuttable and weldable, making it ideal for high-performance applications.

What is Hardox® 600?

Hardox® 600 offers a nominal hardness of 600 HBW combined with exceptional toughness, making it unique among steels of this hardness level. Designed for extreme wear conditions, Hardox® 600 remains cuttable and weldable, making it ideal for high-performance applications. It has been successfully used in cement plants for concrete brick moulds, tables, and compactors; as liner and screed plates in material handling and mineral processing; as liners for stationary concrete mixers; and as hammers and knives in recycling and waste fragmentation.

Hardox 600 performs

Resistance to abrasive wear is not an intrinsic material property; it depends on the application. Materials that exhibit superior abrasion resistance under one set of conditions might perform poorly under different conditions. Selecting material is complex, requiring wear know-how and the consideration of practical issues like application design, maintenance routines, workshop requirements, and material and fabrication costs. Please send us your specific requirements, and our professional sales team will recommend the most suitable materials for your needs.

Benefits of Hardox 600 Plates

  • Steel plates are widely available.
  • All properties are inherent in the as-delivered plate.
  • No extra heat treatment is needed.
  • Large areas can be protected at a relatively low cost.
  • Provides uniform and consistent properties within the plate.
  • Machining, welding and cutting can easily be done using a standard workshop setup.
  • Spare parts can be quickly and easily manufactured for direct installation and replacement.
  • Close tolerances of fabricated components are easy to reach.
  • Provides a unique combination of hardness, yield strength and impact toughness to permit low-weight wearparts design.
  • Superior impact toughness

1) Brinell hardness, HBW, according to EN ISO 6506-1, on a milled surface 0.019 – 0.118″ below surface. At least one test specimen per heat and 40 tonnes. The nominal thickness of supplied plates will not deviate more than +/- 0.590″ from the thickness of the test specimen used for hardness testing. For sheet the Brinell hardness test is according to EN ISO 6506-1 on each heat treatment individual/coil. Hardness is measured on a milled surface 0.012 – 0.079″ below surface.

Hardox® wear plate is through-hardened. Minimum core hardness is 90 % of the guaranteed minimum hardness.
