Exterior-wise, the Hongqi HS6 PHEV features the brand’s signature “mountain waterfall” grille—a design language established during Hongqi’s gasoline-powered era and inspired by the iconic grille of the 1958 Hongqi CA72. This design has been reinterpreted for the new energy era. The grille’s 12 chrome bars draw inspiration from the 12 eave columns of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, creating a commanding visual presence. The vehicle adopts smoked headlight clusters, complemented by a chrome trim strip below and the Hongqi emblem at the center. Air ducts are integrated on both sides, with lower air intakes positioned beneath.

From the side, the HS6 PHEV presents a robust, muscular stance with traditional door handles. An elevated upper character line accentuates the low-slung profile for enhanced sportiness, while a tapered lower line reduces visual bulk and elongates the silhouette. Dimensions measure 4,900 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,730 mm in height, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. This midsize five-seat SUV offers two designs of 20-inch alloy wheels and frameless side mirrors.

At the rear, the taillights echo the Hongqi emblem with their streamlined, dynamic design. Sharp crystal facets combine with soft-gradient light strips, creating layered visual effects of light and shadow. The overall rear design appears substantial and imposing.

Inside, the dual-screen setup immediately draws attention. The cabin features extensive soft-touch materials and a minimalist design philosophy. Luxury amenities include a Dynaudio sound system, in-car refrigerator, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated seats, and an electric leg rest for the front passenger.

Power

Power comes from a 1.5T plug-in hybrid system, with the engine delivering a maximum output of 110 kW (148 hp). Depending on vehicle weight and configuration, the new model offers three WLTC-rated ranges: 123 km, 205 km, and 190 km. It also provides two lithium iron phosphate battery pack options—23.9 kWh and 39.5 kWh. In addition, an all-wheel-drive variant will be available.
