What is TBT 1979 09CuPCrNi-A steel plate?

09CuPCrNi-A is a weather resistant steel made by alloying copper, chromium and nickel. 09CuPCrNi-A has added phosphorous, which makes it best suited for gas flue applications and for aesthetic facias.

09CuPTiRE-A also contains 0.07–0.15% phosphorus, which enhances its corrosion resistance, particularly in environments containing sulfur dioxide or industrial pollutants. This addition makes the material especially suitable for gas flue systems, chimneys, and exhaust structures, where it can withstand continuous exposure to high-temperature flue gases up to 400°C without coating degradation.

In architectural use, the stable oxide layer (approximately 50–100 μm thick) forms naturally over time, giving the steel a service life of over 30 years and a distinctive reddish-brown patina. This makes 09CuPTiRE-A ideal for aesthetic facades, decorative panels, and outdoor sculptures, where both structural performance and visual appeal are required.
