Mikim High-capacity Wood Pellet Production Line

Our high-capacity wood pellet production line is the ideal pelletizer for individuals, families, and small factories. It is very easy to operate and maintain. The sawdust pellet production line produces wood pellets mainly from any wood waste and biomass particles. The pellets are made from fine dry biomass, which is processed by a pellet mill into small compressed pellets of different sizes. You can use almost any type of biomass as a raw material for pellets, such as sawdust, wood chips, logs, straw, rice husks, coffee husks, stalks, agricultural waste, forestry waste, wood residues, and more. The raw material is renewable and sustainable.

The output of wood pellet processing lines can be customized, ranging from 500 kg/h to 10 t/h. This means you can choose the right size for your specific needs.

Raw Materials to Make Biomass Pellets

Industrial Wood Pellet Line components

A complete wood pellet production line consists of several integrated machines, each playing a crucial role in the production process. The general working process is. Raw materials preparation—wood cushioning. For oas and other biomass materials larger than 5 mm in diameter -Sawdust drying if the raw material contains moisture (more than 18%)- Wood pellet pelletizing – Wood pellet cooling – Wood pellet packing.

1. Raw materials Preparation (Wood Chipper)

Wood pellets can be made from sawdust, wood shavings, wood chips, or wood logs, any forestry wastes or biomass straws, stalks, etc. If the materials have diameter of over 50 mm, a wood chipper is needed to reduce large wood logs and branches into smaller, manageable wood chips. If your biomass materials are less than 50 mm. They can be directly fed to the wood hammer mill.

2. Wood Crusher (Hammer Mill)

Further crushes wood chips into fine particles (3-5 mm) for the best pelletizing. The wood hammer mill is equipped with high-speed rotating hammers for efficient
grinding.

3. Biomass Material Drying Process (Rotary Drum Dryer)

Removes excess moisture, reducing the material’s water content to 10-15%. The best moisture content for wood pelletizing is about 10-15%, so a biomass drying machine is needed to make the moisture content reach the required standards before pelletizing. It uses hot air circulation for even and efficient drying.

4. Cyclone Dust Separator

Captures and filters dust particles for a clean and safe working environment.

5. Wood Pelletizing Process (Ring Die Wood Pellet Mill)

Compresses dried biomass into dense, uniform wood pellets. It features large-capacity dies and rollers for continuous production. The wood pellet mill is a significant part of the wood pellet production line. Multiple-ring die wood pellet mills are often used for combined production in a large wood production line.

6. Wood Pellet Cooling Process (Pellet Cooler)

Reduces the temperature of the wood pellets to ensure durability and hardness. It uses a counterflow cooling system for effective results. After the pelletizing process, the temperature of wood pellets is between 60 and 80 degrees, and the moisture content is close to 15%. So a pellet cooler must be used to reduce their surface temperature and the moisture content, which makes the wood pellets easy to store. Meanwhile, it helps screen out good and pure pellets.

7. Wood Pellet Packing Process (Pellet Packing Machine)

Weigh, bag, and seal pellets in customized packaging sizes. Suitable for bulk packaging or small bags for retail. After the cooling process, the packing process is necessary to protect the wood pieces from dampness. Our automatic wood pellet weighing and packing system adopts PLC control with high weighing accuracy, and it is easy to operate.

8. Control System (PLC Control)

Fully automated with a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).
Allows for real-time monitoring and adjustment of the production process.

Application Scenarios of the Fuel Pellet Production Line

Industrial Energy Substitution

Boiler Fuel: Replace coal/oil in steam boilers for textile mills, food processing plants, and paper mills, featuring stable calorific value, high combustion efficiency, and extremely low ash residue.

Drying Heat Source: Low-smoke pellets for ceramic/wood drying kilns with ultra-low sulfur emissions, compliant with EU MCP/EPA standards.

Cogeneration: Fuel for biomass power plants, compatible with continuous feeding systemsfor circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers.

Residential Heating Applications

Household Heating: Heating pellets compatible with fireplaces and pellet stoves, delivering superior combustion performance.

District Heating: Fuel for municipal central heating systems, offering significantly lower operational costs compared to conventional energy sources.

Agricultural Greenhouses: CO₂ slow-release pellets, where combustion by-products promote crop photosynthesis.

Environmental Remediation Applications

Waste Conversion: Converts agricultural and forestry wastes such as sawdust/crop straw/nut shells into standardized pellets through efficient pyrolysis gasification.

Sewage Sludge Treatment: Produces low-moisture pellets from mixed sludge via low water-content processing, achieving harmless disposal and energy recovery.
