Geely Showcases New Vehicles and Comprehensive AI Technologies at WAIC 2025, Ushering in a Boom in Smart Technology
2025-07-29

At the ongoing 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2025), Geely Auto Group is showcasing its latest innovations. The company is co-exhibiting with StepStar Tech. Together, they unveiled several new models, including the Zeekr 9X, Lynk & Co 10 EM-P, Geely Galaxy A7, and Geely Galaxy M9. In addition to the new vehicles, Geely also presented its comprehensive AI technology achievements. Key highlights include the Qianli Haohan Intelligent Driving Assistance System, the Geely Future Mobility Constellation, and AI-powered wearable devices. All of these are part of Geely’s “Full-Stack AI” technology ecosystem, which integrates AI across every aspect of the vehicle and mobility experience.

Geely: The World’s Only Automaker with Full-Stack AI Deployment

As the global smart vehicle industry accelerates, Chinese automakers are transitioning from a focus on hardware specs and computing power to system-level competition—emphasizing technology integration, cost optimization, scalability, ecosystem synergy, and global strategy.

Amid this shift, Geely has carved out a systematic and comprehensive AI path. As early as 2021, Geely launched its “Smart Geely 2025” strategy, aiming to build a “smart technology ecosystem network” powered by cutting-edge infrastructure such as high-performance computing, big data, large AI models, and satellite networks.

In January 2025, Geely became the first in the industry to officially release a “Full-Stack AI” technology framework. This approach integrates AI across all smart vehicle domains—architecture, powertrain, chassis, cockpit—and throughout the entire product lifecycle from R&D and manufacturing to after-sales, making Geely the only automaker in the world to achieve such comprehensive AI coverage.

AI-Driven Smart Cockpits and Satellite Constellations

Geely has long focused on the synergy between vehicle systems and smart ecosystems, expanding into in-car chips, smartphones, and satellite technology. The Geely Future Mobility Constellation, a network of low-orbit satellites, exemplifies this commitment.

In September 2024, Geely successfully launched 10 satellites with a single rocket, bringing its total to 30 satellites across three orbital planes, achieving 24/7 coverage of 90% of the globe. These satellites provide communication services that enhance vehicle safety and efficiency, especially in complex environments.

More satellite launches are scheduled soon, including those for the “Qianli Haohan” initiative. By the end of this year, Geely will complete Phase I of its satellite network deployment, enabling global real-time satellite communication services. This marks the deep integration of Geely’s intelligent driving systems with satellite functions.

Intelligent Chassis and Autonomous Driving Breakthroughs

In the smart chassis domain, Geely’s self-developed AI Digital Chassis achieved the world’s first unmanned drifting with a car. Its AI algorithms control torque vectoring between front and rear wheels with a response time of just 4 milliseconds—25 times faster than human reflexes—and include automatic evasive maneuvers, enhancing driving safety.

Geely also leads in the three pillars of AI development—computing power, algorithms, and data:

  • Computing Power: The StarCore Intelligent Computing Center 2.0 offers a total capacity of 23.5 EFLOPS, ranking #1 among Chinese automakers.

  • Algorithms: Geely’s StarCore AI large model system has been deeply integrated with StepStar’s multimodal foundation models, greatly improving scene simulation, speech response, and user intent analysis.

  • Data: Geely has accumulated 10 terabytes of token data and 40 billion domain-specific data points in the automotive sector, providing the essential “fuel” for training high-performing AI models.

From Lab to Road: Fast AI Deployment

These three AI engines provide strong support for Geely. As a result, its full-stack AI technologies have been quickly applied to mass production.

In March 2025, Geely launched the Qianli Haohan Intelligent Safety Driving Assistance System. “Qianli” represents industry-leading general-purpose AI models and computing power, while “Haohan” refers to Geely’s advanced driver assistance capabilities and user experience.

From the H1 version, supporting highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) and memory parking, to the high-end H9, the system offers the industry’s widest software and hardware bandwidth. With five different tiers and a minimum standard of 100 TOPS, reaching up to 1400 TOPS, it enables a diverse range of vehicles—across price points—to be equipped with top-tier intelligent driving capabilities. This approach promotes “equality between fuel and electric vehicles,” democratizes safety, and ensures that “intelligent driving works everywhere, for everyone.”

At CVPR 2025, often dubbed the “Olympics of autonomous driving algorithms,” Geely’s Qianli Haohan team won first place in the Argoverse2 Scene Mining Challenge, surpassing traditional Western powerhouses and earning the right to help define future standards.

The Zeekr 9X, for instance, debuts the H9 system, equipped with dual NVIDIA Thor-U chips for redundancy and a combined compute power exceeding 1400 TOPS. Its pre-installed top-tier hardware enables eight-fold system redundancy across chips, sensors, algorithms, steering, braking, power distribution, communication, and HMI (Human-Machine Interface).

In Q4 2025, Geely plans to roll out an L3-capable architecture, introducing the cloud-based WM+ foundation model, an on-vehicle VLA+ adversarial security model, and achieving AI-trained AI and AI-tested AI.

AI for Everyone: Geely Leads in AI-Integrated Mobility

Geely has now widely adopted AI agents in its mass-produced vehicles. This makes it the most extensive user of AI in the automotive industry. As a result, Geely has firmly established itself as a leading AI-driven automaker.

Key AI applications already deployed include:

  • Qianli Haohan Intelligent Driving System (driving domain),

  • Thor AI Hybrid 2.0 (powertrain domain),

  • AI Digital Chassis (chassis domain),

  • AI Smart Architecture (vehicle platform domain).

These innovations have all been mass-produced, delivering an unprecedented level of intelligent and safe mobility experience to consumers worldwide.
