The Beijing Auto Show officially opened on April 24th, where Li Auto unveiled its new flagship product — the Li Auto L9 (Parameters | Inquiry) Livis. The vehicle’s price was previously announced at 559,800 yuan, and it is scheduled to be officially launched and delivered on May 15th. In addition to a brief introduction of product information, the press conference featured several impressive highlights: one was Li Xiang personally demonstrating the capacitive anti-pinch function of the electric suction door on site; the other was that the new car, equipped with a fully independent active suspension, can realize independent lifting control of each wheel, such as the on-site demonstration of the wheel lifting rescue scenario when the vehicle is stuck in the desert.

Overall, the new car has been comprehensively upgraded compared with the current Li Auto L9. It has a larger body size, is equipped with 4 lidars, has a chip computing power of 2560 TOPS, and is the first to be equipped with an 800V fully active suspension system, which can achieve an “anti-physical” body posture. In the official statement, it is the core landing model of Li Auto’s embodied intelligence strategy.

In terms of appearance, the Li Auto L9 Livis focuses on improving the overall sense of luxury through detailed optimizations, such as refined adjustments to body lines, upgrades to paint texture, and a more flush star ring light at the front of the car, which supports three-color lighting. Combined with ADB matrix headlights and the new UWB approach sensing technology, it can realize diversified light language interactive feedback.

In terms of dimensions, the new car has a length, width and height of 5255/2000/1810mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 3125mm, which is slightly improved compared with the current L9. In addition, the application of a short front overhang, long rear overhang, high water cut and 22-inch wheels also makes the new car more imposing. It is worth mentioning that the Li Auto L9 Livis also offers a two-tone body, crafted with a three-layer painting process and seamless manual craftsmanship to show a sense of luxury. Moving to the rear of the car, the taillight eyebrow is integrated with the feature line, the taillight eyebrow turns downward, and the lampshade surface is flattened to raise the visual center of gravity.

In terms of intelligent driving, the Li Auto L9 Livis is equipped with 4 lidars across the entire vehicle, combined with an 8-megapixel high-definition camera matrix to make up for the shortcomings of the pure vision solution. In addition, the core highlight of the new car is the adoption of two self-developed 5nm Mach 100 chips, with a total computing power of 2560 TOPS under dual-core collaboration. The new car supports full-scenario navigation-assisted driving (NOA), covering national highways, urban ring roads and urban roads. Equipped with memory parking, remote parking, straight-line summoning and other functions, it can handle 300 types of complex parking scenarios.

In terms of power, the new car will be equipped with a fully self-developed third-generation 1.5T range extender, which is quieter during start-stop and idling. The fuel consumption under WLTC working conditions is reduced to 6.3L/100km, a decrease of nearly 20% compared with the current model. In terms of batteries, the new car is equipped with a 72.7kWh battery pack, the pure electric cruising range under CLTC working conditions is increased to 420km, and the comprehensive cruising range under CLTC exceeds 1500km. A 5C ultra-fast charging battery option is also provided to greatly shorten the energy supplement time.

The chassis upgrade can be called the core highlight of this innovation. The new car is equipped with an 800V fully independent active suspension, which is also the first time this technology has been introduced to models under 600,000 yuan. It can realize “anti-physical” attitude control, break through the limits of spring compression and gravity, and the four wheels can be lifted independently. When driving, it can achieve no nodding when braking and no tilting when cornering, greatly improving stability and comfort. At the same time, the new car is equipped with a fully by-wire chassis, including by-wire steering, four-wheel steering, and fully electronic controlled mechanical braking (EMB). In extreme cases, even if three wheels lose braking at the same time, single-wheel braking can achieve effective braking, while the four-wheel steering system reduces the turning radius of this 5.2-meter-long car to 5.4 meters.

With the blowout of domestic flagship SUVs in the past year, we can also see that more and more products on the market not only are equipped with “refrigerator + color TV + large sofa”, but also have larger sizes and more abundant power options. Therefore, how the Li Auto L9 achieves self-breakthrough and once again becomes the benchmark in the market has been a matter of great curiosity. At this Beijing Auto Show, the Li Auto L9 Livis officially gave the answer. It is no longer a simple “mobile home”, but the core landing model of Li Auto’s embodied intelligence strategy.
