X120Mn12 are high-manganese steels with austenitic structure, characterized by high carbon content—on average 1.00-1.20%,and high manganese content—approx. 12%. The ranges of concentration of carbon and manganese depend on the equivalents of the grades of different origin. The abrasion-resistant steel grades may differ from the standard.

What is X120Mn12 Manganese steel plate?

X120Mn12 Manganese steel plate- also known as manganese hard steel or hard manganese steel plate – in its quenched state has the emblematic of significantly increasing its original low hardness and tensile strength in the cold-worked layer by intense cold working without this having an adverse effect on the originally very high persistence. The cold working increases the G-X120MN12 Steel Plates wear-resistance enormously. X120MN12 Grade Manganese Steel Plates can be flanged , bent, and pierced because of its high persistence.

X120Mn12 Steel and 11G12 Plates are high-manganese steel plates with austenitic structure, characterized by high Manganese content – approx. 12% and high carbon content – on average 1.00-1.20% . It is used generally for intense percussion and impact stresses.

Manganese steel can be welded both electrically and autogenously. Electrical welding is, however, preferred because with autogenously welding procedures, burn-off of manganese and carbon may easily occur. Shielded electrodes at 0.8% – 1.0% C and 15 – 18% Mn must be used for electric welding. The wear resistance is somewhat lower at the weld seam than with the remaining material.
