The BYD Song L Intelligent Driving Edition maintains the same styling as the standard Song L. Its front fascia radiates sportiness and sharpness, with two dragon-tooth-inspired elements flanking the grille that accentuate its bold presence. Chrome accents resembling dragon whiskers connect the headlights to the grille, creating a dynamic visual effect as light flows across them.

The side profile features a low-slung stance, with a sloping roofline that gives the rear a compact appearance. Multiple character lines along the flanks enhance the vehicle’s muscular presence. The taillights incorporate a flowing knot design, and the model is equipped with a retractable rear spoiler. The Song L measures 4,840/1,950/1,560 mm (L/W/H) with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm. These dimensions surpass those of the similarly named Song PLUS and Song Pro, aligning closely with the Tang.

The interior design adopts a relatively clean aesthetic, shedding excessive ornamentation to align more closely with international market expectations. Sporty materials dominate the cabin, creating a strong visual impact, while innovations like frameless doors are introduced. Additionally, the cabin features ambient lighting strips.

The 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster is notably large, while the 15.6-inch central touchscreen retains BYD’s signature design. The model also incorporates a 50-inch AR-HUD. Powered by the DiLink intelligent connectivity system, the vehicle leverages a Snapdragon processor and a deeply customized 5G-enabled cockpit platform developed in collaboration with Qualcomm. A 12-speaker Hi-Fi-grade custom Dynaudio sound system, an active fragrance system, and scene modes deliver an immersive cabin experience.

Powertrain

Powertrain options for the current Song L include single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The all-wheel-drive variant features front and rear motors with maximum power outputs of 150 kW, 230 kW, and 380 kW respectively. The single-motor version delivers a maximum power of 230 kW. According to data from the tax exemption catalog, its CLTC-rated pure electric ranges are 550 km, 602 km, and 662 km. The new model features the Yun Nian C system, delivering millisecond-level damping adjustment to seamlessly blend comfort and handling. It also incorporates BYD’s DiPilot intelligent driving assistance system, covering most driving scenarios with over 30 functions—including highway assist, intelligent piloting, automated parking, and fatigue monitoring alerts—to enhance road safety.
